Future Perfect Continuous
How long something will have run by a future point.
S + will + have + been + Ving
Emphasizes the duration of an action that will continue right up to a specific point in the future. Requires a duration marker (for/since).
Examples
- By May I will have been working here for a year.
- By the deadline we will have been negotiating this contract for two months.
- By June she will have been driving this route for a decade.
By May I will have been work here for a year.
By May I will have been working here for a year.
will have been must be followed by Ving: will have been working.
Common mistakes
- will have been + V1 instead of Ving: will have been work → will have been working.
- Using this tense without a duration marker (for/since), which is essential here.
